Occasionally, the scent of blood is not from the eleven hunters nor the ferocious, instinctual wolves, but the vines themselves. A simple vine can hang a man from a tree against the man's will. A leaf can cut through human skin using magic. And the same vine can strangle one million people and never die. The vines are watered best with blood, although water shall ocassionaly do. Local hunters often use these beasts if wolves or other common predators aren't found in some areas.
