  • Rust Monster Group, Construct
Corrosive touch (d8 damage, ignores armor) 6 HP 3 Armor
    Close
    Special Qualities: Corrosive touch

A very distinctive-looking creature. Something like a reddish cricket, I think. Long crickety legs, anyhow. Blind, too, as I understand it—they feel their way around with those long moth-looking tendrils. Feed that way, too. Sift through piles of metal for the choicest bits. That’s what they eat, don’t matter the type, neither. Their merest touch turns it all to rusted flakes. Magic lasts longer but under the scrutiny of a rust monster, it’s a foregone conclusion. Only the gods know where they came from, but they’re a curse if you value your belongings. Instinct: To decay

    • Turn metal to rust
    • Gain strength from consuming metal
This monster is from the core Dungeon World book

  • Brown Mold Solitary, Tiny, Magical, Amorphous
Absorb heat from nearby life forms (d10 damage) N/A N/A
    Hand, Ignores Armor, Near
Special Qualities: Grows in size in response to heat, Fungus

Brown mold is found in damp, subterranean areas such as caverns and caves. It is light to golden brown in colour. Brown mold feeds by absorbing heat, even body heat. Where brown mold grows, the temperature is below average. Direct sunlight or UV light kills it. Brown mold grows instantly from heat. If a torch is used in its vicinity it doubles in size. Extreme cold kills it. Instinct: Drains heat from nearby living things

    • Dwells in caves
    • Vulnerable to cold

  • Fungotaur Solitary, Large, Terrifying
Sharp hooves, rusted cavalry saber (d10+2 damage) 20 HP 3 armor
    Forceful, Near
Special Qualities: Centaur-like, Feels no pain, Disgusting abomination

This horseman was dead when Fungal Blight settled in his body. Dead but still mounted on his quite alive warhorse. Fungi grew through him and into his mount fusing those two into one disgusting entity that now sprouts more limbs and body parts, adding to it's horrifying appearance. It works on remnants of thoughts and memories of both horseman and mount, which makes it dangerous. Instinct: Kill anything human-like

    • Trample, stomp and cut
    • Pursue fleeing enemy
    • Break through when surrounded
