"No sooner had I entered the dense foliage of the Bryn Woods, torch burning in my hand did they materialize among the thickets around me. The creatures abhor the light yet thrive upon it a number of them rushed at me, jaws that dripped darkness snapping at my heels. I managed to make it to a copse where sunlight broke through the tree line and the creatures abandoned their hunt. I believed myself to have escaped unharmed,yet upon looking down I found a large chunk rent from my own shadow, at that moment I felt an intense pain that did not leave me until I found a magical healer who managed to restore what had been lost."
