In his youth, Cornelius Curioso was kidnapped by foreign sailors and taken to a slave market in Ephebe. He was sold to a doctor and learned many things during his time with him. Offered his freedom if he retrieved secret herbs from the Trollbone Mountains, Curioso went on that mission. Climbing high into the mountains he nearly died but was rescued and brought to a distant monastery. Here Curioso learned much of magic. Curioso completed his mission and gained his freedom, then saved Clea from trouble in her distant land and took her as his bride. Cornelius settled in the quaint Kingdom of Sto Lat and quickly became the Queen's physician. He is a member of the Guild of Alchemists and the Guild of Cunning Artificers.
